Shepot (Шёпот) is a dictation application for macOS. It converts speech to text on your Mac, optionally post-processes the text (locally or via the optional Shepot Cloud service), and pastes the result into the application you are using. Shepot is developed and operated by an independent software developer ("we", "us") reachable at hello@shepot.dev.
Paid plans are sold through Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates), acting as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller of the product at checkout: it processes payment, applies and remits any sales taxes/VAT, and issues the receipt. Your purchase is additionally governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.
License keys are personal and non-transferable. You may use your license on Macs you personally own and use. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publicly share license keys, or attempt to circumvent license enforcement.
You are responsible for how you use the software and for the content you dictate, transcribe, or process, including obtaining any consent required to record other people (for example in meetings). Do not use Shepot in violation of applicable law.
Shepot Cloud is an optional hosted text-processing service included with the subscription. Only transcript text is sent when you choose a cloud-backed processing mode — never audio. The service is provided on a fair-use basis with daily limits to prevent abuse; limits may be adjusted to keep the service healthy.
The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Speech recognition and AI text processing can make mistakes — review important text before relying on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability related to the software is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
